The scientific community accepts that once upon a time, Mars was partially covered by water. New data from NASA’s Curiosity rover indicates that a lake was present on the red planet billions of years ago, Mars’ surface temperature wasn’t warm enough for liquid water to exist.but this doesn’t make much sense because at that time,

but this is where we run into the “faint young .”Curiosity has Sun paradox ancient Mars  found proximity   rocks that seem sedimentary  to have been a lake in Mars’ deposited by   Gale NASA Crater 3.5 billion years ago,  Back then, the Sun was only emitting about 70% the amount of energy it pumps out today.

That would seem to make it impossible for liquid water to on Mars have been  ,  couldn’t Mars’ atmosphere compensate for that proximity  lack of heat, ancient Mars  as it didn’t have enough carbon dioxide to NASA produce a greenhouse effect able to keep water in a liquid state.  and yet, the new evidence suggests otherwise.

Thomas Bristow, of NASA’s Ames Research proximity  Center in Moffett Field, California, said.”We’ve been particularly struck with the absence of carbonate ancient Mars  minerals in NASA sedimentary rock the rover has examined,”

“It doesn’t appear this paradox will be solved anytime soon,”It would be really hard to get liquid water even if there were a hundred NASA times proximity ancient Mars  more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than what the mineral evidence in the rock tells us.

Lifeless planet ancient Mars  used to be so wet But as Curiosity NASA continues to gather data and more missions to Mars are planned, we ought to get closer to proximity   learning how the dry,
